Helicon was executed under Claudius. Etruscus survived, amazingly, into the reign of Domitian (AD81 - 96), and died at the age of ninety.

Finally, two recommendations. If you’re interested in the history of the period per se, then I cannot recommend highly enough Professor Anthony Barrett’s book ‘Caligula: the Corruption of Power’ (Batsford 1989, reprinted Routlege 2000). Comprehensive, thorough, beautifully written, and a tremendously good read. The same goes for ‘Philo’s Alexandria’, by Dorothy Sly (Routlege 1996), to which I am seriously indebted for the topographical details of the city.
